We then went to visit her friend (Aunty XL) who has a stall in the main building. I found out that it was rented by her son and it's on a 2-year lease. She could not stop manning the stall till 2 years later. That's a long time.
I also found out that Aunty XL was my mother's good friend. She often visited my mum after my mum had gotten married. My mum knew her when she was working in a Caucasian's house as a domestic helper and Aunty XL's sister lived next to my mum's employer's home. In the end, my grandma (my mother's mum-in-law who was also my dad's mum) got Aunty XL to address her as "godma" so that's how my mum and Aunty XL got closer. Apparently, the whole family (my relatives) all know Aunty XL and she knows them well too.
We waited till she closed up her stall and I wanted to treat her to dinner but she beat me to paying the stallholder first. We had claypot rice and it was supposedly a famous stall with many reviews from Makansutra, Yummy King. etc. We all waited for almost an hour for our claypot rice.
As we called it a night, Aunty XL's daughter came to fetch her home and gave us a lift home too. Yippee...
Dear Lord, thank you for the time spent with mum today and her old friend (Aunty XL). It's been a long while since I saw her and she's also not getting any younger, like my mum. May You bless her with good health and experience peaceful home for a long time to come.
